Truckers argue EPA regulations will promote electric vehicles at the expense of the American consumer
President Joe Biden’s administration finalized plans for a program it argues will further reduce air pollution from heavy-duty engines and vehicles across the United States, but truckers argue the proposed standards will crush the supply chain and put the American food supply at risk.
The new emission standards put forth by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) “are significantly more stringent,” “cover a wider range of heavy-duty engine operating conditions” compared to previous standards and are aimed at reducing emissions of nitrogen oxides and other pollutants. The rule officially went into effect on March 27 of this year, but will be implemented for new trucks sold after 2027.
Not only will this impact the food supply, but other industries such as the construction will also feel the severe brunt of this action. I would assume that any industry that uses trucks with large engines will fall into this category .
To my way of thinking, if the United States is the only country that is moving in that direction how can our actions make that much of a difference.
“A new clean diesel long haul tractor typically costs in the range of $180,000 to $200,000,” Kucharski said. “A comparable battery electric tractor costs upwards of $480,000, that’s about a $300,000 upcharge, [which] is cost prohibitive for the overwhelming majority of motor carriers.”
Not only will this impact the food supply, but other industries such as the construction will also feel the brunt of this action. I would assume that any industry that uses trucks with large engines will for victims to this decision making.
Let’s face it, the entire world has been put it self in jeopardy by conditions that mankind has invented, created and been accustomed to. In the long run I really don’t know if there’s a solution to our problem except self destruction.

With all of the turmoil that is going on in this world between the superpowers, threats of nuclear warfare, homelessness, the drug epidemic, sky high crime rate, no accountability for committing crimes, people that are bound and determined to turn the USA into a socialist state, sky high economy, hatred among nations, I don’t think that air pollution should be our primary concern. I really believe in many areas we have passed the point of no return. Somewhere down the line mankind is going to self-destruct. What good is clean air if there is no one left to enjoy it
So who is and should our greatest concern and our real enemy?? Mankind itself and crackpot politicians like Kamikaze Joe.
