My head is off to the CAT WITH THE HAT. He hit the nail right on the bald head.
Years ago I used to notice some old men I ran across now and that because of thier poor vision had shaven and missed a few spots, had hair coming out of their noses 6 inches long, long enough to braid it, eyebrows looked like unkept hedges, you can tell what they had for their last five meals, they left the telltale signs on their shirt – their hair looked like they just walked through a typhoon – buttoned their shirts incorrectly, had some teeth missing – couldn’t even remember their last name, hobbled along because of illnesses and worn our body parts like they had the world on their shoulder, had to repeat everything you said to them five times, and those were just for starters.

I grant you the longevity between men and women have increased immensely. Supposedly we are living healthier and longer, but in the interim comes all of the associated illnesses with old age. We are like a fucking junk car that has been abandoned in the woods for years, and all of its functionalities have seized up.

Years back some fool made a statement that hard work never hurt anyone. I can tell you from my own experience that dummy never did any hard work.

Try this at 16 years old for 12 hours a day, I did. In the morning when I woke up I used to have to pry my fingers apart from the intense pounding up the air hammer.
From there I took a step up I thought and joined the USMC. What an awakening I got, I should have stayed with the air hammer.
The other one that I love is called the golden years. To that I say horseshit.
These dyas I spend a good majority of my time going to doctor’s appointments at the VA or to the regular doctors. The other half of my time has been on keeping my medications in order.
Now bear in mind I am not bitching. As bad off as I feel sometimes, I feel very lucky to be in the condition I am.
Moral of my story: don’t be a junker left in the woods to rot. The secret to a happy healthy life in your old age is exercising daily and being active. I cannot stress that enough.
Don’t stop moving and become abandoned in the woods
