Burger King, In-N-Out and other chain locations in California raise prices after minimum wage increase: report
One McDonald’s franchisee reportedly said he has had to raise menu prices as well
“The biggest leap was at a Burger King, where a Texas Double Whopper meal cost $15.09 on March 29 but surged to $16.89 on April 1, a whopping increase of $1.80 (nearly 12%) for the same meal,” the NY Post reported.
“The Big Fish meal also jumped from $7.49 on the menu before April 1 to $11.49 after — an increase of $4 (53%),” the report continued. “Most other items increased anywhere from 25 cents to a dollar.”
Does it really make sense to raise the minimum wage as high as they did?? I would probably say that the workers are worse off financially after the raise than before.
It is just like in the construction industry; when the workers get a 10% raise, the company owners raise their prices 25% and blame the unions. It makes no sense whatsoever.
The only thing that cannot be disputed is that raising the minimum wage does not benefit the workers but enriches the coffers of the industry leaders.
It’s like everything else in politics. The more they bullshit the general public, the more gullible they become. I want to wait six months and then interview the people who had their increase to see if they were better off now or before. I do know the answer.
The old cliche never seems to fail: the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. The wealthy never would admit that they are the cause of out-of-control pricing; as long as the birds on the bottom branches allow the industry to shit on them, this sad scenario will never change. The working man does not stand a chance.
What’s sense does it make to get a $6.00 an hour wage increase when it costs you $10 in the long run??
There are a lot of son of a bitches out there making tons of money with this charade. Somewhere hidden under the crooked political rug all of these moves are tied into the far left socio socialist end game.
