US halts $700 million in aid to Pakistan

ISLAMABAD – The United States has frozen $700 million in aid to Pakistan until it gets assurances that Islamabad is helping fight the spread of homemade bombs, a move likely to further strain ties between the countries.

 A Congressional panel halted the payment to Pakistan, a nuclear armed country that is one of the largest recipients of U.S. foreign aid, late on Monday as part of a wider review of defense spending.

I hope someone beside me see something totally wrong with this picture.

Our country is “stone broke” and we were/are giving aid to a country that clearly is the enemy of the USA. The most ironic element here is,  Pakistan harbors most of the terrorist that are trying to reduce the USA to ashes.

Wake up DC and let’s face it; the Pakistani government is in bed with these terrorists. If they weren’t they certainly would not be hiding them out. Cut off the dollars permanently, don’t just slap their hands.

Here is a zinger for you to chew on. Since 2002, the United States has given Pakistan over $20.7 billion in combined military, economic and humanitarian aid, according to the Congressional Research Service (CRS).

 The CRS chart, Direct Overt U.S. Aid and Military Reimbursements to Pakistan, FY2002-FY2012, originally released by the State Department, shows total U.S. donations of $14.2 billion to Pakistan for security-related programs and $6.5 billion for economic and humanitarian programs.

 Largest security-related U.S. donations to Pakistan included $8.9 billion in coalition support funds from the Department of Defense budget, $2.2 billion for foreign military financing and $1.9 billion to the Pakistan Counterinsurgency Fund.

In addition, the U.S. donated $4.8 billion from 2002 to 2011 to help support and develop Pakistan’s economy, $650 million for Pakistan earthquake and flood recovery and $413 million for food.

Has anyone on Pennsylvania Ave. ever wondered why the USA is broke? I have the answer in a few words. The people that are running our government are “irresponsible”, out of touch with reality and not fit to be in the positions they are in.

Giving Pakistan foreign aid is like; inviting someone over your house for dinner. When they have eaten and drank all they can you hand them a baseball bat and “ASK” them to beat the shit out of you!

The United States of America should not be giving aid to any country in the world while our country is in the financial condition were in, especially our enemies.

The entire countries infrastructure is fall apart around us, roads, bridges, water lines, sewers and we are giving billions of dollars to the bad guys. Charity begins at home.

I really believe; if this senario was presented to a bunch of kids in kindergarten, even they would be able to see there is something out of kilter.

According to the government’s user-friendly Web site, http://www.foreignassistance.gov, Uncle Sam doles out “more than $58 billion a year in foreign assistance through more than 20 agencies.” More than half of that, roughly $37 billion, is managed by the State Department and USAID.

 You may be surprised to learn that most countries outside of Western Europe, Canada and Australia get foreign aid from the U.S. This year the requested amount for Russia was $68.7 million. For China, it’s $12.9 million. A whopping $647.7 million has been allocated for Nigeria. Even $20 million is set aside for communist Cuba.

Again, these figures are the requested amounts for 2011–Congress is still trying to figure out how much to spend during the current fiscal year–and they only include aid to be managed by State and USAID. They don’t include money that finds its way into these countries through U.S. regional foreign assistance offices or offices that deal with specific issues like health or agriculture.

Can you imagine we even give China and Russia aid? Both countries could buy and sell us two times over. How about Cuba? Cut them off, isolate them because they are a communist country and then send them aid so they can roll more cigars.

I don’t get it. Are the lawmakers afraid that we are going to make enemies and people around the world will  not like us? Hello, they already don’t. All they are doing is laughing at us while we fill their pockets.

I really don’t know what it is going to take for the light switch to go on in DC and get these law makers back into reality?

Our country is going down the tubes and these so called legislators are throwing  anchors to its sinking citizens. Maybe the country has to completely fail before anyone wakes up. We are headed in that direction.

All of our leaders should have had a taste of being homeless and sleeping on the streets, having their homes repossessed, trying to figure out what to buy first food or medicine and maybe they wouldn’t have their head in the ass.
