Dutch teen female completes year-long solo sailing journey around world:

Laura Dekker a 15 year old girl set sail from her hometown in the Netherlands on a journey around the world by herself on her water crate called “Guppy”; a trip 99.9% of the worlds population would not ever attempt.

During her solo trip Dekker marked her 16th birthday and claims she is the youngest sailor to complete a round-the-world voyage. What about pirates??

The Guinness World Records will not acknowledge the trips massive mastery of the masts. They want to dissuade people younger then 16 trying to break this extremely dangerous record.

Not to take away from Laura’s FEMALE FA-NOMINAL feat; I wonder about her parents mind set that would allow such young person to undertake such a risky adventure by herself.

Again; what about the pirates?? These screwballs attack full armed vessels let alone a young lady that is sailing solo.  It was conceivable that when her permissive parents  waived goodby to her at departure it could have been the last time they saw her! They had to give her permission. They are are a lot braver then I am.
