Kansas lotto player hit by lightning after buying Mega Millions tickets:
A Wichita man was hit by lightning on Friday night just hours after buying three tickets in the record-setting $640 Mega Millions lottery.
Bill Isles, a volunteer storm spotter for the National Weather Service made a comment to his friend when he was inside the grocery store where he bought three lottery tickets for Friday nights 640 million dollar lottery; “I probably have a better chance of getting hit by lighting than I do hitting this lottery”.
Guess what; he was right. Later on that day Blazing Bill was in his back yard with his ham radio to check for storm activity at around 9:30 p.m. when a towering bolt of lightning slammed into the ground next to him and knocking the storm chaser for a loop.
He must be one tough character; he walked away with just a slight headache and a new hairdo
It’s a good thing he didn’t tell his friend that he had a better chance of an airliners wheel falling off the plane and hitting him in the head than winning the lottery.
Bill should be OK for a while. It is said that lighting does not strike twice in the same place. That also has been disproved.
Roy Cleveland Sullivan was a U.S. park ranger in Shenandoah National Park in Virginia. Between 1942 and 1977, Sullivan was hit by lightning on seven different occasions and survived all of them.
Old Roy never hit the lottery either. As a matter of fact; the old boy at 71 years old put a bullet between his eyes over a rejected love affair; that is how unlucky he was.
That does not sound like a fitting end to anyone that got slammed by lighting 7 times and lived to talk about it.
