Washington Post
Obama administration struggles to live up to its transparency promise, Post analysis shows:
In the first year as president, Obama vowed an increase in transparency across government, including through the Freedom of Information Act; the proactive release of documents; and the establishment of a new agency to declassify more than 370 million pages of archived material.
Another words Obama promised not to keep any secrets from the American people; the foolish, naive, bamboozled people that voted him into office. This guy could sell ice to the Eskimos. Hopefully the veil has been lifted.
It now appears that since Obama wiggled his way into the presidency, the government controlled by him and his henchmen Holder are even more secretive than before by using stalling tactics, and hiding behind “executive privilege”. I guess when you are the person that controls and writes the laws; executive privilege can be anything you want it to be.
Obama made a statement in one of his very impressive but convoluted and deceptive speeches to the nation after he was first elected. He was addressing the congress and senate when he stated to the nation that, “We work for the American people”; which was something I never heard another president say.
It didn’t take long for the real Obama to emerge; only to find out that the vast majority of what he promised would be flushed the drain and he was no better than many that served before him.
What possible reasons can there be for refusing to make public governmental transactions if there isn’t something out of kilter?? National Security? I doubt it. It is a control factor to demonstrate who is the boss.
They remind me of Alec Baldwin in the movie Malice when he declared, “I am God”.
Most of these politicians get into office and in a couple of years they think they can walk across the Atlantic Ocean. There is only one person I know of that could walk on water and it is none of the DC crowd.
It can be that the Obama administration does not know the definition of the word transparency: Transparency, as used in science, engineering, business, the humanities and in a social context more generally, implies openness, communication, and accountability.
As I have said many a time; there is no accountability in DC on either side of the isle just executive privilege.
