Cleveland police: Missing teens Amanda Berry and Gina De Jesus found alive, appear to be OK:
Through the years Cleveland, Ohio seems to have its share of odd crimes and even more peculiar outcomes that make national headlines but what happened yesterday is one for the books.
Two young ladies that were kidnapped 9 and 10 years ago respectively miraculously surfaced yesterday unharmed.
Amanda Berry was last seen in 2003 while waiting for her sister to give her a ride home from work at the Burger King on West 110th Street and Lorain Avenue. On the day of her disappearance she was going to turn 17 years old. While she was missing her mother died of heart failure in 2006.

On April 2, 2004, 14-year-old Gina De Jesus went missing on her way home from Wilbur Wright Middle School. It was believed at the time that Gina was sold into a human trafficking ring.
It is not yet clear how Amanda Berry got a phone to call 911 but she told the operator “I’m Amanda Berry. I’ve been on the news for the last 10 years.”
Within minutes the house the girls were in was surrounded by police and the girls finally found freedom.
A 52 year old man was arrested but not details about him have been released.
The odd of anyone being found alive after all these years has to be astronomical.
A situation like this certainly gives the families of other kidnapped victims hope that someday their loved one may be found but the chances are very slim.
Call it a miracle or call it good luck; whatever it is, it is a very happy day for two Cleveland families.

I’m happy for the girls. I also wish we could find more of them even if it takes 10 years.. God Bless them and their families after all this time.
I noticed something interesting while watching the TV coverage. If it’s the correct house, I saw an old style war veteran plaque in the window of the house. I remember them from WWII when I was a kid. Am I mistaken???
