WASHINGTON (AP) — Americans enter 2014 with a profoundly negative view of their government, expressing little hope that elected officials can or will solve the nation’s biggest problems, a new poll finds. Half say America’s system of democracy needs either “a lot of changes” or a complete overhaul.

I really is a shame that I find very little, if anything good to say about the politicians in this country that are running the USA into the ground and it appears that many more people are seeing them in the same light. It is just too bad they vote with their hearts instead of the heads.

Standing by my conviction that if the politicians were compelled to live by the same set of rules the citizens are, we would see a much different and expedient way of them doing business. There is absolutely no urgency or consideration for the taxpayers in the way they conduct their affairs.

According the Gallup Pole Americans’ job approval ratings for Congress in 2013 averaged 14%, the lowest in recorded history. Congressional approval has averaged 33% since Gallup began measuring it in 1974, with the highest yearly average of 56% reached in 2001.

I know that I am completely critical of the way our politicians “take care of business” and I hope eventually I will have something complimentary to say about them but outlook is very bleak.

I still will stand by my philosophy of politicians and sports figures being paid based on their performance. As a matter of fact, if everyone was paid under these guide lines, we would see the world’s competency levels advance dramatically.

What is the incentive to do a good job if a person gets paid the same regardless of the performance?

How can they be proficient in their job performance when they are all asleep?.
