Why bother making any New Year’s resolutions, you will never keep them anyway.
Another year has passed and the majority of the resolutions people made lasted no more than a week to a month. The desire and good intentions may be there but the willpower isn’t. Let’s face it; the majority of human-beings are a bunch of weak chartered people with no discipline what soever.
The following are some of the resolutions some institution was paid big money to do a study on of the resolutions people make on New Year’s Day. The fact of the matter is the resolutions are broken faster than MSNBC came up with the dirt on the Head Ducker.
Lose weight – this has to be one of the toughest resolutions to follow through with. First of all the flesh is weak and secondly, every-time we turn around there is either a fast food joint staring us in the face or we see Adam Richmond from Man Verses Food wolfing down a 7 pound burrito. The temptations are staggering.
Getting organized – there are probably more slobs in this world than neat people because it is a lot easier to be a slob than being “squared away”. Just drop it wherever you stand and someone else will pick it up. Don’t wash the car today it is supposed to rain next month.
Spend less, save more – fat chance of that. The business owners and the government keep us broke. Even if we buy less products to try and watch, the prices in all store goes up daily and the government is coming up with another tax to keep the working man in the poor house.
Enjoy life to the fullest – some people interrupt enjoying their life to the fullest a little differently than others. Think I will take a ride to Colorado this afternoon and get a “quick buss” on their official first day of legal business.
Staying fit and healthy – one of the hardest things to do that is in conjunction with eating and drinking less. It takes a great deal of determination and self-discipline to start and maintain an exercise regiment. If a person gets up one half hour earlier everyday and works out before they go to work, that is if they have a job, no matter what happens that day their workout is completed. People for the most part are very lazy. They love to complain but hardly ever do anything about it.
Quit smoking – anyone that smokes these days has rocks in their head. With all of the documented medical information out there that details all of the illnesses that can be contracted by smoking, a person is a fool to smoke or get started. They lie to try and convince themselves smoking is not harmful; “I have a 96 year old cousin that smoked 6 packs a day and is still around”.
Help others – that is another big joke. Most people are so self-absorbed and self-centered they will step over a guy that is dying and laying in the street to catch a bus.
Fall in love – Are you kidding me. What is considered a successful marriage these days is if the blushing bride and groom could get from the altar to the limo without talking divorce.
Spend more time with family – now this is an easy one to do because it takes no discipline or self-control. The truth of this tale is; for the most part, the only time the family all gets together is when the lid has slammed on someone’s coffin. All the leaches and parasites come out from the basement to get their greedy little fingers in the money pie.
So why even bother making a resolution, you are not going to keep it anyway. You must like the way you conduct your life and how you look; you have been that way for many years. Why try to change and quit bitching.
Think of taking care of yourself as a investment in your future. Quoting my old friend Dean Martin; “If I knew I was going to live this long I would have taken better care of myself”!
They don’t get any better looking and charismatic than the “Steubenville Stud” Dino Crocetti!!
If you do have the backbone to make a commitment and you think you can stick with it, I will quote two other well-known iconic figures Flannery O’Connor; “the life you save may be your own” and Smokey the Bear “If not you, who”?
We only go around once, make the best of it.
HAPPY AND HEALTHY 2014 to all.

Good, with exception of one thing, but I agree, if you do not smoke, don’t start. I started in 1965.
