The entire context of US code 1182 DOES give the president of the USA the authority to keep out or deport ANYONE that would detrimental to the health –  welfare and security of the USA.

The Donald wasn’t far off with his recommendations. As a matter of fact; one of the most liberal presidents we had, Jimmy Carter invoked his power to use Code 1182 in 1979 when  he ordered 50,000 Iranian to be deported that he felt were some sort of threat to the USA.

The laws do exist to deal with undesirable elements. It is up to the sitting president if he wants to enforce them or not.

I think we all know how the Commander in Chief (not to be confused with the Commander and Chief) position stands on this issue.
