At this time it looks like Minassian is a severely troubled software developer. According to friends and students he had and has some alarming mental issues. I must say that this one may be chalked up to a mental health issue. Same result different cause. The outcome is always bad.
That is all well and good, BUTT it does not negate what he did. It is too bad these issue are not addressed before they go haywire!!
