Both pilots were killed in the collision. Their identities have yet to be released to the public, though the union representing them said both pilots “dedicated their careers to the safe transport of passengers.”

I have always maintained that the pilots for commercial airlines are not paid what they are really worth.

If it were not for the heroics of the 2 pilots, the disastrous situation could have turned into something much worse. Both men are absolute heroes and should be recognized as such.

I hope that their families are well taken care of for life.
