Figure in Fast and Furious Ring to Be Sentenced:

Did anyone ever see a major, colonel or a general in the military ever take the rap for anything that went awry;  it is always the PFC or a Corporal that goes to jail.

The same thing applies here with this Fast and Furious debacle.

Here we have a man that bought two rifles and was found at the scene of the fatal shooting of a federal agent north of the the Arizona-Mexico border. He will be sentenced Wednesday for his part in a gun smuggling ring targeted in the botched investigation known as Operation Fast and Furious.

Jaime Avila Jr., 25, faces up to 10 years in prison for his acknowledged role as a straw buyer for the ring that authorities say bought guns and smuggled them into Mexico for use by the Sinaloa drug cartel.

Ok; this guy is guilty of buying the weapons and should go to jail but what about the people that sold them to him and the people that are deliberately are covering up the sordid details on how this “brain storm” went totally out of control. What happens to them?

What we have is a case of the PFC or corporal taking the rap and the big guys getting away with murder.

When it comes to beating the rap it all depends on what rank you are, how much money you have or who your daddy is.

If the people would not have sold these weapons to the Mexican Cartel this entire scenario would have never happened including the murder of the boarded agent Brian Terry.

On a scale of 1 – 10, 1 being the lowest on the scale for stupidity and 10 being the highest degree of stupidity, I will give the organizers of this foul ball of an operation a 12.

I can name dozens of people that come from well to do families or that had some status in life that got away with crimes but the little guy that comes from an average family gets thrown in the slams for spitting on the side walk.

One such example sticks in my mind of one of the greats examples of miscarriage of justice where a wealthy family was involved.  It was the case of Edward “Teddy” Kennedy and Mary Jo Kopechne.  Who else but a Kennedy could have been involved in the drowning of a young lady and not report it for 8 hours. After it was all said and done Teddy walk away clean.  I forgot; Teddy had a neck support around his neck for effect! Academy award material.

I am waiting for the USA’s government to deliver the Sherman tanks and rocket launchers to the bad guys. When they are delivered to Manuel and the boys they will all come with complete instruction “manuals” on the operation of the weapon. Translation into Spanish; add another 15%.

If they are order today they can be delivered before Christmas.

I am willing to bet that the people that orchestrated this sham of an operation were promoted and reassigned to a warmer climate.  Th old cliche in the government is “if someone screws up enough, promote them”.
