Reports: NFL hires first full-time female referee:

The National Football League reportedly has hired Sarah Thomas as its first permanent female referee. She has experience in college games. Thomas is said to be one of eight new officials hired by the league. Mark Strassmann reports.

WHY???

I am sort of on the fence with this one. Why does the NFL need a female referee, except to cave in to all the PC wackos out there?

             
I can see female truck drivers, operating engineers, female just about anything but what is the purpose of having a female NFL ref except to get in line with all of the PC-ness in this mixed up country we live in.

I am definitely an advocate for women’s rights equal pay for equal work but not for filling quotas or just to appease the natives.

In the same way I disagreed that the YMCA should have been integrated or desexatized (new word), I disagree that the NFL should have a female ref. It just doesn’t seem to fit.

When is this PC-nonsense going to end?

Before we know it, there are going to be some PC-laws passed that the players will not be-able to use cuss words on the field because it will offend the refs. Worse yet there is going to be an entirely new way of the players communicating with each-other as to not hurt somebody’s feelings.

Please pass the ball to me you brute – Can I make this tackle around your legs or is it too close to your private parts – excuse me, I didn’t mean to close-line you sir – pardon me mister, can you be a little more delicate when you pass that very hard rubber ball to me, it is hurting my hands when I catch it – quarterback, can you please reposition your hands when you have them between my legs, snapping the ball is quite uncomfortable in that position.

If our ridiculous society can find its way to being so accommodating to the PC world, I would assume that many of our other important problems that confront us should be as easy to settle.

Pardon me for suggesting that; I hope I didn’t offend anyone.

One plus; the old girl isn’t too hard to look at. Hopefully she won’t be a distraction on the field when she bends over to pick up a fumble.

Sarha better have some thick skin.
