Soledad O’Brien Says Journalists Need To Stop Using The Word ‘Thug’ To Describe Baltimore Protesters

Former CNN host Soledad O’Brien said Sunday that the word “thug” has become the new N-word, and said journalists need to think twice before using the term to describe protesters in Baltimore.

Come on Soledad; try to come up with a better gripe than not calling the thugs that burned, looted, threw concrete blocks at cops, thugs.

What do you recommend they be called; choirboys? And as far as the word thug becoming the new N-word; I never heard that comparison until some of the black leaders in Baltimore opened a NEW can of thugs.

Do you see what an education did for you? It is possible IF a person is shown the right direction to take and they work hard at it.  Stop talking about what happened 150 years ago and yesterday; that cannot be changed but tomorrow can.

Stop feeling sorry for these lawbreakers and start educating the thugs on how to become responsible citizens. The more a mother defends her out of control kid , the worse the kid becomes.

Let get serious and send a message to the thugs that they shouldn’t act like thugs and then no one will call them thugs. I can think of a lot of better adjectives to describe the thugs then just calling them thugs. .

Stick and stone will break people’s bones but names will never hurt them.

One very important concept many people are missing in this world. We have to earn respect by the way we conduct our lives. It is not a given.
