What does it take for someone to get the death penalty in the good old USA?

This piece  of white trash killed 17 people and wounded 20 others, now is going to spend his miserable life in an airconditioned cell, three meals a day, have access to all the boyfriends he wants or doesn’t want and pretty much have a good life.

One of the bright sides to these high-profile situations; one of the inmates is chomping at the bit to be the one to put the punk in a pine box. Hopefully that will be the case.

One of the bleeding hearted jurists did not believe in the death penalty, resulting in a life without parole sentence for this homicidal maniac.

I am a little ambivalent when it comes to the death penalty. A fast death by execution may be a better option for some criminals; pull a switch or a shot in the arm and it is all over rather than rotting away behind bars for 40 years.

If it was an eye for an eye I would be in favor of that type of death penalty; slow long-suffering death the same way the victims of these crimes had to suffer.

If someone is sentenced to life in prison, looking at the overall picture, that may be more severe than the death penalty, especially if they are a young person.

It doesn’t appear that the death penalty is a deterrent to crime but I will bet that the eye for an eye would be a real eye opener for some of these psychopaths. They have to be made an example of in some fashion.  Conceivably future criminals may think twice about committing  copycat crimes to get their 15 minutes of fame.
