Woman shot in arm as bullets fly near Pike Place Market:

It is reverting back to the lawless Wild West out west.

A woman was shot in the arm by a stray bullet from a nearby shootout as she was walking with friends just outside Pike Place Market early Saturday, police said. Sounds like a gang-banger to me.

Pike Peak Market not only is a fabulous place to visit and see but it is also one of the most versatile markets anywhere with its eclectic range of fruit, vegetable, meats, fish and just about anything a person wants to buy; somewhere a family can spend a day  enjoying them-self, or at least it used to be.

Directly across the street from the market is  another landmark, the first Starbucks. This very populated area is supposed to be a great place shop and enjoy the scenery and not be concerned about ones safety.

Now it appears that the shoppers and visitors have to wear bullet proof vest while at the market like just about every other place we go these days.

As our civilization (if that is what we can call it) evolves there doesn’t seem to be anywhere a person is safe anymore. Schools, theaters, churches, market houses or even in our own homes.

There can be only a couple of solution to eliminating these violent crimes. Tougher laws, stiffer sentences and eliminate the trash if the offense is severe enough. No 20 years on death row so the prisoners can become jail hose attorneys and harass the judicial system. Free some of those cells up.

Recidivism in the USA is over two-thirds of released prisoners were rearrested within three years. Does that tell us anything?

If two or more criminals have a shoot out and kill one or the other; why is it necessary for the law to investigate the crime? It is a big waste of taxpayers’ money. For the most part they are doing society a favor. After they get out of jail they will be back on the same street doing the same thing they went in for.

Tougher times should necessitate  tougher measures.
