Inoperable Obama-Care Site Cost Taxpayers $635 Million:
This is one of the little things that the American taxpayer rarely hears about unless someone happens to stumble over it and let the “rat out of the sack”.
Records indicate that the firm hired to create the site was expected to finish for less than $93.7 million. In reality, that cost footed by American taxpayers was more than seven times as much.
To be exact, the U.S. government paid $634,320,919 to put together a website featuring a permanent error message.
It has always been the rule of thumb for any company doing work for the government “first get a contract with the Federal Government” and then it is Carte Blanche from then on.
With today’s technology; how can something as simple as developing a website cost 93 million dollars to begin with, then eventually costing 7 times that amount = 634 million? The pain would be a little more tolerable if the website was functional.
As I have said many times” It is not coming out of the politicians pocket or they would be eating at Popeye’s Chicken.”
Either someone is not minding the store or they are getting a very big envelope for their lack of scrutiny.
